Malaysian Grand Prix

March 19-20-21 2004
Sepang International Circuit

Summary

Most of the weekend was marked by very high temperature. The
practice and qualifying rounds where held on dry road normally favors the Michelin tyres. But it seems like the 2004 edition of the Bridgestone tyres has improved a bit.

It was an overall interesting race, with a first podium in career
for Button. Disappointing results at McLaren with an engine blowup for Kimi and a 6th place for DC. Also disappointing was Jaquar with Mark Webber's retirement.

Overall, another dominating race for Ferrari. But once again,
challengers where not far behind.
Montréal Grand Prix

June 13-14-15 2003
Circuit Gilles Villeneuve

Summary

The Friday qualifying session was held in heavy rain. The track was wet and slower than usual. Michelin tires struggled on the wet track, giving Bridgestone a slight advantage.

The rain was down to a drizzle saturday morning and stopped sometime around noon. With two test sessions scheduled that morning and some support races, the track had dried up completely by Saturday afternoon.

The race was as exciting as a race can be with the first 4 drivers
finishing within 5 seconds of each other and R.Barrichello and
K.Räikkönen battling it out for 5th and 6th place.
Is Ferrari having problems?

As we know, Barrichello spon off the track quite early in the race in Melbourne. It was originally blamed on oil and debris on the track.
But now, Luca Badoer, Ferrari's test driver, just crashed the new F2003-GA for the second time in two tests today at Mugello, Italy.
Could this be a sign that Ferrari is having some problems with the cars?

Melbourne: Good weekend for the McLarens

Be it luck or skill, it was a pretty good weekend for the McLarens overall with a 1st place and a 3rd place on the podium.

See the results here.

Sure, Montoya spinning out helped a bit but still. The results where even more surprised considering their 11th and 15th place on the starting grid.

It was a pretty exciting race overall and not only because no Ferrari's stepped on the podium. :-)
